Product Description
The Peppapeach Stripey is a uniquely flavorful pepper with a sweet, fruity taste and a hint of spice. First discovered by Matt Layton in 2021, this variety stands out for its striking appearance—peach-colored pods that develop vibrant red stripes and speckles as they ripen. Each pepper features a one-of-a-kind pattern, ranging from bold stripes to delicate red flecks.
Beyond its eye-catching looks, the Peppapeach Stripey offers mild heat and a fruity sweetness, making it a great addition to salads, salsas, and other dishes that benefit from a balance of sweetness and spice. The plants are highly productive, ensuring a steady harvest of these beautifully striped peppers throughout the season. Ideal for both culinary and ornamental use, this variety is a fantastic choice for gardeners and chefs who enjoy distinctive, flavorful peppers.
While it hasn’t been officially tested, the Peppapeach Stripey is estimated to have an average heat level of around 1,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Renowned pepper grower Chris Fowler has also played a role in stabilizing this variety. The "Stripey" pattern is a natural mutation seen in other peppers, including the Sugar Rush Stripey and Zebrange.
